Crucian is 3oz short of the record

This record-shaking 4lb 7oz crucian topped an incredible catch of the species. Nigel Kennard fished a lake in surrey over eight days and landed no fewer than four over 4lb, 21 specimens over 3lb and six weighing in at 2lb-plus. 

His biggest fish falls just 3oz short of the British best. All were taken when Nigel alternated imitation maggot and caster hookbaits in conjunction with Drennan Method feeders and 6lb mainline.
