This impressive 6lb 15oz golden orfe was caught by Mike Kirby.
The 61-year-old from Reading, Berks, fished a feeder filled with red maggots at Surrey’s Newdigate Farm Fishery – and it wasn’t the only big fish of the session, as his tactics also proved the downfall to a 5lb 13oz specimen.
It was his first time fishing for the species, and Mike opted to use quivertip rods and short hooklinks.
