Canal chub with a liking for lures
Chub are becoming more and more widespread in the UK canal network, as Daniel Kunicki showed with this fine pair of specimens he caught from his local stretch of the Grand Union Canal.
The Polish-born angler took both fish and several more smaller specimens on his own tiny homemade plug-type lures.
Daniel didn’t weigh either of the chub but the larger of the two was quickly measured at 50cm before both were returned to the water.
