Feeder scores for 2lb 9oz gravel pit roach
Following the close of the river season, Bob Edwards switched his attention to gravel pit roach – and was rewarded with this specimen of 2lb 9oz.
The Hampshire-based rod fished a venue in the same county with feeder tactics to help tempt his new personal best for the species.
Bob said: “When it rolled in the water I could see it was a better stamp of fish, and when the scales settled at 2lb 9oz I knew it was worth the wait.”
A cage feeder approach with flake and worm hookbaits over a helping of hemp and liquidised bread produced the bites, along with back-up fish of 1lb 11oz and exactly 2lb.
