Impressive haul topped by stunning crucian

A method feeder was the key to the capture of an impressive haul of crucians, topped by this specimen of 3lb 14oz.
Matthew Baynes was targeting a club lake in Surrey and banked fish weighing 3lb 11oz, 3lb 6oz and 2lb 7oz, all of which fell to a feeder packed with Sonubaits F1 groundbaits and 2mm pellets coupled with 6mm pellets on the hook.
His biggest crucian equalled his personal best for the species, and he also landed a few tench and a bonus 22lb mirror carp.
“It was a really tricky day on the crucians, but then the fish switched on and I took advantage during a 90-minute spell of activity in the afternoon,” Matthew told Angling Times.
