'Over the moon' with huge bream
Not all carp anglers appreciate bream, but Rob Adams was over the moon with this 16lb 12oz specimen.
The 43-year-old banked his new personal best for the species during a carp fishing trip to a syndicate lake in the Midlands.
After introducing 20 Spombs of boilies to a mark 140 yards out, Rob had a single bleep on his alarm at 4.30am and saw that his line had gone slack.
He told Angling Times: “I looked out of my bivvy and noticed a branch was on my line and the line had gone limp. I reeled down and struck and instantly felt something.
“The next thing I knew I was looking in my landing net at the biggest bream I’d ever seen in 38 years of fishing!
“My previous personal best was 12lb 12oz, which I caught a couple of weeks ago, so to break it again so soon has been incredible.”
